BALTIMORE, Md. - Riding a two game win streak, the Manhattan men's soccer team traveled down to Loyola looking for another big Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) win. Unfortunately, the Greyhounds (12-5-1, 7-1 MAAC) proved to be too much as they defeated the Jaspers 3-0 on Sunday.

Loyola jumped out to a quick lead following a plethora of shots in the first ten minutes. After George Ellis made two saves and watched two more go wide of goal, the Greyhounds started the scoring. Dominic Marshall was able to play a ball into the box where Larry Ndjock was waiting to blast one into the top right of the net for a 1-0 lead.

Manhattan (3-12-1, 2-5 MAAC) struggled to find an equalizer in the first half managing just three shots after going down a goal. Naru Park placed a header just over the crossbar off a corner kick a mere two minutes after the goal while Kevan Lewis and Alex Shackley each fired attempts as well but went into the half trailing 1-0.

In the second, the Greyhounds continued their control of the game as Kevin Curran's corner was finished by Connor Thompson in the 67th minute. As Manhattan pushed forward looking to get back into the game, Loyola put the match out of reach in the 81st when Curran went down the left side before feeding Joseph Cahalan. Cahalan then crossed the ball into the box where Stephen Dooley beat Ellis for a 3-0 lead.

Loyola narrowly outshot the Jaspers 14-12 while Manhattan led in the corner kicks 7-3. Ellis finished the day with six saves while Thurman Van Riper stopped four shots in the 89 minutes he played.

The Jaspers now come home for the final two games of the regular season. On Fri. Nov., 2 they will host Niagara before playing Canisius at 11 a.m. on Sun. Nov., 4 at Gaelic Park.
