McCann continued his recent hot streak by hitting 4-for-5 from the plate on the afternoon.
Saint Peter's tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom half of the fifth with two sacrifice flies. Junior shortstop Conor Mullee and sophomore outfielder Brandon Edwards pushed the runs across the plate, marking the Peacocks only runs of the contest.
The Jaspers pitching staff allowed just six hits and struck out five batters in the ballgame. Freshman Mike Giordano earned his second win of the season after tossing five efficient innings. Fellow freshman Matt Troisi and sophomore Mike Tibbetts were solid out of the bullpen each receiving two innings of work.
Jaspers senior co-captain Ruben Perez scored what proved to be the game winning run in the top of the sixth inning, courtesy of DeRuve's one out sacrifice fly. Center fielder Kevin Nieto sent home the second run of the inning with a RBI single into center field allowing Austin Sheffield to cross the plate.
Sophomore Chad Salem also had a nice day from the plate going 3-for-4, including a double.
The Jaspers return to action on Wednesday at New York Institute of Technology at 3 p.m.
