Riverdale, N.Y. (April 28, 2008) ? Manhattan College led all schools with five student-athletes named to the 2008 MAAC Men's and Women's Golf All-Academic Teams, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced today. On the men's side, a total of 18 MAAC golfers were named to the All-Academic team.
Named to the team from Manhattan were: seniors Scott Burton, Sean Oroho and Chris Vieau, junior Steven Rentz and sophomore Anthony DeMartino.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. . Canisius College, Iona College and Niagara University each had three members named to the teams. Fairfield University and Saint Peter's College both added two student-athletes, while Loyola College, Rider University and Siena College rounded out the teams with one student-athlete apiece.
