Riverdale, N.Y. (April 26, 2008) ? With a two-round score of 651, the Manhattan College golf team ? a young team using three freshman and a sophomore among their five scorers -- remains in eighth place heading into the final round of the 2008 MAAC Men's Golf Championships being held at the Magnolia Golf Course in Walt Disney World. Loyola College holds the lead with a score of 592.
Sophomore Nick LaBanca remains Manhattan's top medalist with a two-round score of 155 (77-78). He is tied for 22nd overall.
Also scoring for the Jaspers were freshman Thomas Romano who is in 29th overall with a two-round score of 158 (78-80); freshman Matthew Baney, who is tied for 36th with a score of 165 (85-80); freshman Louis Perry, who is in 47th overall with a score of 175 (92-83) and senior Scott Burton, who is in 48th with a score of 177 (90-87).
Competition will resume tomorrow with the men teeing off at 7:30 a.m.
