Buffalo, N.Y. (March 22, 2008) - The Manhattan College men's lacrosse team fell to Canisius College today, 10-5 in MAAC play.  The Jaspers offense was lead by Salvatore Spatarella and Brian Wynne as they scored two goals apiece.

Coming out in the first quarter, Spatarella put Manhattan on the board first, scoring an unassisted goal with 13:28 on the clock.  But the Golden Griffs answered back with two goals of their own in the first quarter and lead 2-1 going into the second.  At the start of the second quarter, Spatarella came through again tying the game up 2-2.  But once again, Canisius had an answer as at the half, Canisius led the Jaspers 4-2.

The Jaspers were down by as much as 6-2 but a goal by Brett Miranda to close out the third quarter, followed by Wynne's first goal of the game to open the fourth, Manhattan was looking to climb back as they now trailed 6-4.  But the Golden Griffs put up four goals in the fourth and the deficit proved to be too much for the Jaspers.

Spatarella and Wynne notched two points on the day, as Luke Dillilo tallied an assist.  Brett Miranda finished the game with one point as Angelo Marrano grabbed a team high four groundballs in the game.

The Jaspers will continue MAAC play as they return to action on Saturday, March 29.  They will take on Marist College at their home field, Gaelic Park.  Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
