Buffalo, N.Y. (January 11, 2008) ? Behind four players in double figures, led by Darryl Crawford's 14 points off the bench, Manhattan won it's first conference road game of the season, 69-65 over Canisius.

With 1:11 remaining and the game tied at 68, sophomore Antoine Pearson connected on his only basket, a three-pointer from the top of the key that gave Manhattan (8-7, 2-3 MAAC) the lead for good.

Rashad Green posted a double-double for the Jaspers, scoring 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting, along with 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals.

With Manhattan in early foul trouble, the Golden Griffins (2-13, 0-5 MAAC) built a 12-point lead with 11:25 remaining in the opening half, after Frank Turner, who scored a team-high 18 points, buried a jumper.  But the Jaspers responded, falling into a zone defense and putting together a 17-0 run over 4:16, capped by a Green layup, to go up 27-22.  Manhattan extended its lead to five after another Green basket, but the Golden Griffins pulled within three at halftime, 38-35.

The Jaspers carried the momentum into the second half, opening with a 9-2 run to extend the lead to 11, their largest of the night, 48-37.  But the Golden Griffins didn't go away, especially from three-point range, where they were 5-of-13 after intermission.  Sharpshooter Jovan Robinson hit four shots from beyond the arc, including a long-distance jumper that tied the game at 65 with 1:37 remaining.  Less than a minute later, Pearson responded with his second game-winning three-pointer of the season.

Manhattan closed the game shooting an even 50 percent (24-of-48) from the field, while holding Canisius to 35 percent shooting in the second half.  Devon Austin and Chris Smith each scored 11 for the Jaspers, who shot nearly 74 percent at the foul line for the game.
