Riverdale, N.Y. (September 16) ? Manhattan college dropped the second game of its MAAC season to Fairfield University, 3-0.  Junior co-captain Alyssa Getzel led the team with a game high 31 assists.

 

The Lady Jaspers came out strong and put up a good fight against Fairfield in the first game.  But the Stags proved to be too strong as they took game one, 30-19.  In the second game, the Lady J's kept it close throughout most of the game as they found themselves tied at 10 points each.  Manhattan kept the score within two points, but in the end Fairfield pulled away and took the second game, 30-21.  The third game was close in the beginning as both teams battled it out.  In the end, Fairfield came out on top to take the third game, 30-20, and the match, 3-0.

 

The Lady Jaspers offense was paced by Alyssa Getzels' game high 31 assists.  She also contributed 6 digs and a service ace in the match.  Junior Andrea Reiff sparked the offense with 10 kills while also contributing 10 digs.

 

Manhattan will travel to take on its next opponent Rider University.  The game will start at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22 in Lawrenceville, N.J.
