SIENA TRIPS UP WOMEN'S SOCCER, 3-1

Loudonville, N.Y. (October 19, 2007)- Three unanswered goals provided Siena College with a 3-1 MAAC win over Manhattan this afternoon.  The Lady Jaspers fall to 5-5-4, 2-2-1 in MAAC play.

Rachel Pannullo got Manhattan off on the right foot 1:54 into the game.  Tracey Colantonio blasted a shot that Saint goal keeper Patti Carroll saved but did not corral, and Pannullo was right there to bury the rebound and give the Lady Jaspers the quick 1-0 lead.

The score remained 1-0 Manhattan until the 20:29 mark, when Tabitha Tice scored the first of her two goals on the day to knot the score at 1-1.

The score stayed deadlocked through halftime, until Tice struck again, giving Siena a 2-1 lead at the 59:44 mark.

The Saints tallied a crucial insurance goal in the 72nd minute to provide the final margin.

Caroline Morse recorded six shots to pace the Manhattan offense.

Alicia DeFino registered two saves on the day.

Manhattan returns to action on Sunday, traveling to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to take on Marist College at 1:00 p.m. in a MAAC contest.
