GAME 2 BOXSCORERiverdale, N.Y. (April 10, 2006)- Manhattan (15-14, 2-4 MAAC) faced MAAC rival Iona (7-15, 2-0 MAAC) Monday afternoon at Gaelic Park. The Lady Jasper's fell short, losing both games by a score of 3-2.

Kiera Fox led Manhattan's offense in the bottom of the sixth. Fox belted a two run homerun off Iona sophomore pitcher Becky Riccitelli, giving Manhattan the lead 2-1. Riccitelli then hit a game winning two run homer in the top of the seventh against senior
Jill Medea. Medea (10-8) had 11 strikeouts against the Gaels and scattered 7 hits but the Lady Jaspers couldnt produce run in the bottom of the seventh.
In the second matchup against the Gaels, the Lady Jaspers gave up three runs in the first inning and then held Iona scoreless the rest of the game. Manhattan's first run came in the bottom of the second, from Freshman
Amanda Genovese. Senior
Tina Buyea scored on a groundball by Genovese to shortstop. The Lady Jaspers manufactured their second run in the bottom of the fifth when Freshman
Danielle Just singled to right center, scoring Strein. Manhattan was unable capitalize in the sixth or seventh and lost the nightcap 3-2 once again.
Manhattan faces Columbia tomorrow in a non conference match-up at Gaelic Park, 3p.m.
