GAME 2 BOX SCORE
Stony Brook, NY (March 27, 2005)- Jill Medea hurled a one-hitter and Jen McCracken belted a solo homer, the first of her collegiate career as Manhattan downed Stony Brook, 1-0, in the first game of a double header this afternoon at University Field on the SBU campus. The Lady Jaspers fell, 9-1, in the second game.
McCracken led off the top of the fourth with a home run to left field to provide all the scoring Manhattan would need, as Medea carried a no hitter into the fifth and did not allow a runner to advance past second base in picking up her third shutout and fifth win on the season. She also fanned seven.
Liz Strein (3-4) and Michelle Gutierrez (2-4) tallied multi-hit games for the Lady Jaspers.
In the second game, the Seawolves scored four runs over the first three innings on the way to the 9-1, six inning, game. Kiera Fox blasted a two-out round tripper for Manhattan's only run.
