SOFTBALL DROPS PAIR AT FORDHAM

GAME 2 BOXSCORE



Bronx, NY (May 4, 2004)- Manhattan was swept in a non-conference double-header by Fordham today at Bahoshy Field. The Lady Jaspers fall to 15-28 on the season. Jennifer McCracken and Megan Jurkowski had RBI for Manhattan.

In game one, Fordham plated the game's only run in the bottom of the second, when the Rams scored a run on a RBI single.

Kristin Gelsleichter (3-3) went the distance for Manhattan, allowing just one run on six hits, while striking out three. Manhattan scratched out just two hits on the day.

The Lady Jaspers took the early lead in game two, scoring a run in the top of the second as Jurkowski doubled home Kiera Fox

Fordham plated two runs in the bottom of the fourth, regaining he lead on a two-run double. The Rams stretched the lead to 6-1 in the bottom of the fifth on a grand slam.

In the top of the seventh, McCracken connected on a RBI single, scoring Marina Ysaac.

Coleen Horgan (1-6) went five innings, striking out three. Elizabeth Peninno pitched a scoreless inning of relief.
