WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO DREXEL, 2-0

Philadelphia, Pa. (October 9, 2004)- Manhattan traveled to play Drexel in Philadelphia, PA this weekend where they fell to the Dragons, 2-0 giving up two second half goals. The Jaspers record falls to 1-11 overall and the Dragons improve to a 4-7-3 record.

After a scoreless first half, Drexel's Alexandra Yiantsos set up Casey Miller with a beautiful pass right in front of the net. Miller drove the ball past Manhattan's freshman goalkeeper Alicia DeFino (Mineola, NY) in the 58th minute. Miller's second goal of the game came in the 77th minute, this time coming from a pass from teammate Samantha Bahnsen .

DeFino faced 26 shots and recorded 10 saves for Manhattan, while Drexel's goalkeeper Melissa Stuhler, who played the majority of the game, finished with six saves.

The Lady J's will host Rider on Friday, October 15, at 3:00 p.m. at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.
