Jim Duffy is in his sixth year as the Head Coach of the Manhattan College Baseball program.

A year ago, Duffy led the Jaspers to wins in seven of their final nine games en route to qualifying for the MAAC Tournament for the fourth time in his six years in Riverdale.

Additionally, he oversaw the development of 2016 MAAC Player of the Year Christian Santisteban and 2016 MAAC Rookie of the Year Fabian Pena.

Both players also earned Louisville Slugger All-American honors. At the conclusion of the season, incoming signee Tai Tiedemann was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the eighth round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.

Duffy made a splash in his first year in the dugout, leading Manhattan to its third MAAC Championship in 2012. The landmark season also featured the only undefeated home record in the Division I ranks as the program recorded a perfect 18-0 mark at Van Cortlandt?Park.

The Jaspers then made conference history in their title run by rallying through the elimination bracket of the MAAC Tournament. Duffy's club became the first team to win four games in three days to earn the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Manhattan was sent to the Columbia Regional to face two-time defending National Champion South Carolina. The run to the regionals capped a season that saw the Jaspers win 33 games, including posting an 18-6 conference record en route to claiming the MAAC Regular Season title. Duffy mentored five All-MAAC?first team selections in 2012 and oversaw the development of Anthony Vega, who was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles following his junior year in the 30th round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.

In 2013, Duffy guided Manhattan through an injury-plagued season and mentored All-MAAC First Team selections Ramon Ortega and Nick Camastro.

The following season, Duffy guided Manhattan to 2014 MAAC Tournament thanks to a sweep in the final weekend of the year. In 2015, he oversaw the development of Chris Kalousdian into a First Team All-MAAC selection.

Duffy came to Riverdale after seven seasons as an assistant coach at Seton Hall, where he helped the Pirates win the Big East Championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament in 2011.

The Garden State native began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater in 2001. That season, Seton Hall won its first Big East championship since 1987. In 2003, he was promoted to full-time assistant coach. Duffy worked primarily with the Pirates' hitters and outfielders while also assisting with recruiting, scouting and team travel. Nine of Duffy's players eventually moved on to professional baseball careers.

A four-year starter at first base for Seton Hall, Duffy earned his bachelor's degree in 2001. He is the Pirates' all-time leader in putouts (1,387) while also ranking second in hits (247) and at-bats (709) and fifth in runs scored (165). A three-time All-Big East selection, Duffy was named New Jersey College Player of the Year and earned All-America honors after finishing ninth in the nation with a .429 batting average in 1995. The following season, he had a school-record 29-game hitting streak.

Following his senior season in 1997, he signed a free agent contract with Houston and was an outfielder in the Astros' system for four years, advancing as high as Double-A before retiring in 2000.

Duffy and his wife Danielle are the proud parents of three children.
